Angela Primachenko is a 27-year-old Canadian. When she started displaying fever, and other symptoms, she went to the hospital for a medical check. She had suspected spring allergies because she had a runny nose. Being infected with the Coronavirus was the last thing on her mind because, according to her, she had taken severe measures to avoid infection. However, Angela, who had stayed away from work as part of measures to protect herself and her unborn baby from the Coronavirus infection was tested and diagnosed as positive for the virus. She was tested on 24 March 2020, and just eight days after was struggling for survival. She was placed in a medically induced coma. The medical practitioners at Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center induced labor and delivered the baby while she was comatose. She told the Today program that she didn’t expect she was going to deliver her child due to the sudden deterioration of her health.

Angela’s Condition Now
Although the miracle mother is yet to fully reunite with her baby, Angela is gradually recovering. She was only able to get off the ventilator and breath on her own earlier this month. Angela attributes the whole occurrence to God’s glory and shows a lot of appreciation, expressing that to her and the family, baby Ava’s birth has been an inspiration at a dark time. She also expressed how shocked she was when she woke up from her coma to discover she no longer had her belly.

Delayed Meeting With New Daughter
Angela, who now has to learn parenting with COVID-19, has been released from the hospital, but she won’t be able to hold her baby until she gets two negative results for the Coronavirus. The doctors also have to observe special baby bath care tips. The mother also has an 11-month old daughter, Emily, who has tested negative for the virus. Angela has also received immense support from both loved ones and colleagues which has given her the courage to endure parenting with COVID-19. Her twin posted on her social media account about her sister’s miracle birth. Angela also received a standing ovation from the hospital medical staff as she was wheeled out of the ICU.

Parenting With Covid-19 For Angela
Angela’s baby, Ava, albeit a healthy baby, tested positive for the Coronavirus. Observing special newborn baby bath tips has been paramount. Having been born premature, Ava is still in the Intensive Care Unit until she is matured enough to be released from the hospital. Angela said she sees her daughter via video calls when her husband, David, goes to see Ava in the hospital. This is one of the sacrifices she must make while parenting with COVID-19.

Coronavirus Cases
The spread of the virus has been on the rise with Washington recording a total of 508 deaths and over 10,000 cases. Being one of the first states to report the infection. It is also no news that a lot of measures have been put in place to flatten the curve as much as possible. The United States, amongst others, continues to work hard and diligently in the fight against the deadly Coronavirus.
