The Incident
Ashley Zamora has been reported to have accidentally fallen asleep while bathing a three-month-old baby, consequently endangering the baby boy’s health. Zamora was said to have taken prescription drugs. This is not too surprising considering the rise in the abuse of prescription drugs in America. Many single parents, teenagers, and even married couples take prescription drugs to get through the day. However, her actions were simply a case of carelessness and neglect of the baby boy’s health.
The child whom she was caring for slipped under the water meant for his bath after the baby sitter fell asleep. The 39-year-old Ashley Zamora is charged with a case of neglect for an infant she was supposed to have been caring for. The incident which occurred on March 6th in Louisiana has captured the attention of many, but Zamora maintains she was under the influence and that it was not an intentional act.

What The Authorities Are Saying
In regards to her claim of being under the influence of prescription drugs, Zamora was transported to a local hospital to have her blood checked for a toxicology report. Authorities believe her claims of being under the influence of drugs might be factual considering the surrounding circumstances of the incident. But, that does not mean she did not put the life of the youngling in mortal danger.
According to a spokesperson, it would seem that Zamora had bad advice on having a baby bath. Deputies from Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office who were called to the scene in the morning were able to rescue the baby and ensure the baby boy’s health before the situation could escalate. How they managed to find the baby was a miracle. Although the baby was found breathing but unresponsive, his condition has been described as stable after being airlifted to a hospital. She was charged with cruelty to a juvenile and booked for Calcasieu Correctional Center.
We believed that it is left to the authorities to handle the situation in such a way that would be a warning to other child caregivers. This sort of situation cannot be allowed to continue as the lives of children is put in mortal danger.
We also urge child caregivers to desist from such behavior to ensure the safety of the child. Ensuring baby boy health, or baby girl health is crucial during bath time. Having a firm knowledge of baby health information on bathing will go a long way to prevent such incidents.
